Time Slot, Manga Spin-offs, etc.

KAI TIME SLOT GOES TO TORIKO IN APRIL

It has been confirmed that Fuji TV will be broadcasting a new anime series based on the Toriko manga. The new anime series is slated to premiere in April 2011 and will be taking over the DragonBall Kai time slot at 9 AM on Sunday mornings before the One Piece anime series. What will happen to Kai. All we can do now, is wait...

DRAGON BALL SD

The new special DragonBall manga spin-off, DragonBall SD, made its debut December 3rd in Shueisha's new magazine, Saikyou Jump. The spin-off comes from mangaka Ooishi Naho (オオイシナホ), however Toriyama is listed as supervising the manga. It consists of 12 full-color pages and follows an alternate telling of Goku and Krillin's training with Kame-sennin. You can order it on Amazon Japan for ¥580 (~$7.00).

Raging towards the Eradication

It was announced that "The Plan to eradicate The Saiyans" anime short (included in the upcoming Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 game) will not be dubbed, but it will be subtitled. Also some pictures and trailers have been streamed through the internet, and I came across with some of them:

Plan To Eradicate The Saiyans in Raging Blast 2

Namco-Bandai has confirmed in a press release that both the PS3 and 360 versions of Raging Blast 2 will include the 30 minute animation feature, Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans, on the game disc. The new feature will be viewable immediately out of the case, requiring no actual game play to unlock it. The game is due out sometime this coming November in North America and 11 November 2010 in Japan.

Japanese Kai Home Release News

Happinet will now be classifying DragonBallKai releases by arc rather than a continuous numerical count from 1 to 33 (DVD) or 1 to 8 (Blu-ray). They also stated that the Artificial Human & Cell Arc will conclude in episode 98.

"The listing on CD Journal states that the Dragon Book included in the first "Artificial Humans and Cell arc" Blu-ray box set will contain another interview with a cast member, and an interview with Team Dragon (AKB48), the group responsible for Kai's new ending theme. It will also come with a non-credit version of both the new opening and ending animations that premiered in Kai episode 55. The first "Artificial Humans and Cell arc" Blu-ray box set and DVD are due out on 2 October 2010. The Blu-ray box set will run you a pretty ¥14,679 (~$168), which is a tad cheaper than before due to having one less episode, while the DVD is staying at the standard ¥2,940 (~$30)." In other news the ED2Kai singles will be released in july. There will be 3 types of covers, as you can see above. The first one (Goku, Gohan & Cell) is the regular edition. The second one (Vegete, Trunks, Goku, Gohan, Picollo) is the limited edition with the Miracle Battle Card, and the Team Dragon one will be used as a cover for eleven other singles.
